Minibeasts Live! for years 2 to 6



An indoor minibeast hunt in your school hall.
Hunt for woodland bugs in real leaf litter


Live minibeasts such as ground beetles, rove beetles, snake millipedes, pill millipedes, centipedes, flat woodlice, pill woodlice, garden snails and more will be brought to your school for children to find in leaf litter.

Teachers have commented that with this activity you know that the children will find a complete range of minibeasts.

Sorting: Group according to observable features.

Classification: Crustaceans, insects, molluscs, arachnids, annelids and myriapods.

Habitats: Most of these minibeasts are from a woodland.

Adaptation: How are they suited to their environment and their way of life?

Camouflage: Why are some camouflaged and some not?

Life Cycles: Larva, nymph, pupa or cocoon?

Feeding: Food chains and predator/prey


One class all day or up to five classes per day(one class per session).

Years 2 to 6 only.
